Water may be an abundant resource on this planet, but that doesn’t mean it comes for free when using it around the house—though we admit, that would be nice. If you get your water from a municipal supply, then you pay the municipality for it. That is just a fact. Want to know another fact? There is no reason why you should be overpaying for the water you use throughout your home. And no, we’re not talking about peak usage time charges, either.
Too many homeowners become accustomed to paying too much for the water that they use in their homes. If you stop and think about it, then realize that your water costs have been on the rise, let us know. It is possible that there is something going on with your plumbing system that can account for such discrepancies. If you’re certain that your rates have not changed and that you are not using any more water than usual, contact a member of our team. It may be time for plumbing repairs in Tucson, AZ.
Are You Using Water Smartly?
We know that sounds like a strange question, but ask yourself this. Are you leaving the water running when you brush your teeth? Do you let the shower heat up, but then get distracted for a few minutes before stepping in? Do you frequently wash dishes by hand because you can’t be bothered to unload the dishwasher?
All of these issues may seem very minor, but that extra water you’re wasting every time you participate in one of these behaviors can and will add up over time. You’ll see it reflected in your water bills. Use water effectively and minimally, and help your kids to do the same. You can still live comfortably and conveniently, without the waste!
Is Your Toilet Running? Your Faucet Dripping?
There are certain plumbing issues that can be accurately described as “emergencies”. A dripping faucet or a running toilet do not fit the bill. Does that mean that you can just ignore any such problems then? Sure, but only if you’re happy to pay for a serious amount of wasted water!
Again, those drips and that running toilet may not seem like much in the moment, but they’ll add up over time. Trust us, fixing even the tiniest of leaks can save you serious money in the long run! Certainly enough to justify the cost of a service call.
What About More Serious Leaks?
Well, I don’t have any flooding issues, so nothing to worry about there.
If only it were so simple.
While a major rupture will cause noticeable flooding promptly, many plumbing leaks are far less obvious. Remember, pipes run all throughout your home, and even under the concrete slab atop which your home is constructed. If you cannot find the source of water waste in your home, let us take a look. It could be the result of a leak that has not revealed itself quite yet.
